Digital radio under the microscope at Broadcast Asia

Broadcasters in the Asia-Pacific will study the latest advances in digital radio at a half-day Broadcast Asia conference in Singapore later this month.

The forum on ‘Digital radio: Relevant, Regulation, Revenue and technology’ is being organised by World Digital Multimedia Broadcasting for the morning of 20 June.

WorldDMB Asia-Pacific Chair Joan Warner says the first half of the conference will look at how to make radio stay relevant when audiences have other digital platforms to choose from, new revenue opportunities by going digital and why DAB+ is the most cost effective digital radio standard.

After the opportunity for networking, the second session will examine a case study from Thailand before discussing hybrid radio, especially handset and in-car integration.
