DDI to train Maldives broadcasters

Indian public service TV broadcaster Doordarshan has agreed to train Maldivian broadcasters, the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) announced on Tuesday.

In a statement, a commission spokesperson said broadcasters endorsed by the Commission would be able to intern at Doordarshan’s offices in India.

MBC Commissioners who are currently in New Delhi at the invitation of Indian broadcasting regulators, met with officials of Doordarshan on Monday to discuss cooperation between broadcasters in the two countries.

The commissioners are also expected to meet officials of the Indian information ministry, public service broadcasters as well as regulatory bodies.v
