Invitations open for special digital radio workshop in Vietnam

Senior broadcast engineers in the Asia-Pacific are invited to special digital radio workshop taking place alongside ABU’s RadioAsia 2013 conference in Vietnam later this month.

The three-day workshop in Hanoi is being jointly organised by the ABU, Voice of Vietnam (VOV), the WorldDMB Forum and Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) from 26-29 July 2013.

They say the event will be of significant interest to all radio broadcasters in the region and will showcase the DAB+ standard and its transmission technology, demonstrating its features and efficiency improvements compared to analogue FM broadcasting.

The event will comprise a one-day technology workshop followed by a one-day drive test demonstration and field measurement exercise around the city of Hanoi, with a half-day session on the test results.

Registration for the “DAB+ Technology Showcase Event” closes on 12 July 2013 and organisers say that since the number of participants is limited, early registration is advisable.
