Registration opens for ABU’s 2013 technology webinars

Organised by ABU Technology, the month-long festival will run from 12 August to 11 September, offering a series of free online webinars to ABU members and anyone interested in broadcast technology.

The festival will include presentations on different aspects and applications and provide information on new technologies and developments in the industry.

This year’s themes include: Frequency planning and digital rollout; digital radio technology and implementation; DVB-T2 technology and advanced applications and satellite broadcasting technologies.

Content for the webinar sessions has been taken from the workshops and conference sessions of the Digital Broadcast Symposium and other events held in 2013. Each webinar session will be around 90 minutes, starting with a presentation by an expert followed by a question and answer session.

Organisers say the speaker or someone from the ABU Technology Department will be available to answer online questions. There will be a session every day except Saturday and Sunday, starting at 0130hrs GMT (9:30am Kuala Lumpur/Singapore/Hong Kong time) each day and will be repeated at 0700hrs GMT of the same day (3:00pm KL/Sin/HK time), to facilitate participation of attendees from different time zones.
