NHK World TV on air in Los Angeles 24/7

NHK has announced that its English language international service NHK WORLD TV will start broadcasting around-the-clock in the Los Angeles area of the US west coast from the beginning of next month. 

The channel will be made available to about 3.3 million homes in and around Los Angeles. This will bring NHK WORLD TV’s 24-hour broadcast to more than 10 million homes in the United States.

So far, in the United States, NHK WORLD TV has been available around the clock mostly in the east coast metropolitan centres such as New York, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.

Launching in the country’s second largest market and a key western city with many ethnic Asian residents, NHK is hoping to reach out to many more viewers with their news, information and cultural programming.
