Media experts to gather in Saudi Arabia for broadcasting forum

A Saudi Media Forum in November will bring together experts from the broadcasting industries of the Arab Region, the Asia-Pacific and the rest of the world to discuss issues and strategies, organisers say.

The forum being jointly organised by the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information, the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) and the ABU will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from 26-28 November 2013.

Speakers and delegates will discuss the future of the broadcasting industry in the digital era under the theme “The next generation of ever-evolving broadcasting and digital media”.

Dr Riyadh K. Najm, President of the General Commission for Audiovisual Media in Saudi Arabia, said the forum would serve as a platform to share knowledge and future strategies, discuss solutions and rapid developments and integration of print, advertising, TV, radio and social media. 

“High calibre speakers from Saudi Arabia, Asia and the MENA region will be participating in the forum,” he said.

ABU Secretary-General Dr Javad Mottaghi said the forum would bring together ABU and ASBU members, industry professionals and experts from within the broadcasting and media industry.

“[They will] include key Ministries in Saudi Arabia, television and radio broadcasters, regulatory bodies, telecom operators, network solution providers and system integrators, content providers, TV and radio broadcasting equipment, satellite operators, cinema film and video producers and advertising agencies,” he said.
