More entertainment channels for South East Asia

Europe’s RTL Group has joined forces with CBS Studios International to launch two channels across Southeast Asia, one focused on general entertainment and the other, featuring reality, action and extreme sports.

The two channels will broadcast in English and local languages and be distributed in HD in up to 29 Asian markets including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Singapore-based venture – RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network –will operate RTL CBS Entertainment, slated for a September 2013 launch and RTL CBS Extreme, to roll out in spring 2014, offering action/adventure, reality series and extreme sports.

Both channels will have on-going access to content from Fremantle Media and CBS Studios International.
