National Geographic Asia launches original pan-regional series

National Geographic Channel Asia has announced the Hong Kong and Southeast Asia premiere of its original pan-regional series ‘I Wouldn’t Go in There’, produced in Asia for an Asian audience.

World Screen reports that the ten-episode series features blogger and urban explorer Robert Joe as he investigates the true stories behind some of Asia’s most reputedly haunted sites. The series is commissioned by National Geographic Channel Asia, produced by InFocus Asia and supported by the Media Development Authority of Singapore.

“We are excited to bring I Wouldn’t Go In There to audiences around Asia, and there are plans on the table to produce additional original programming for the benefit of local audiences,” said Mark Francis, the VP of production and development for Asia Pacific at FOX International Channels.

“I Wouldn’t Go in There is an original idea that we developed internally at the channel and it’s the first of a new breed of stylish, contemporary factual programs made out of our region. We believe our viewers will appreciate how it puts a fresh spin on the popular mystery and history genres while delivering the insightful narratives National Geographic Channel is known for,” he added.
