Everyone can follow Asia-Pacific’s first Global News Forum

Broadcasting experts and media leaders from across the Asia-Pacific and on-line participants around the world will converge on the Korean capital Seoul next week for the region’s first Global News Forum.

Organised by the ABU and host Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), the Forum on 5 September 2013 will focus on “Breaking the News in the Media 3.0 Era” and set new standards in such conferences.

Samsung mobile devices will be used to make the Global News Forum a smart conference experience.

Run on a Samsung Galaxy mobile site rolled out by the KBS Platform Development Department, a special conference app will be made available to participants and observers around the world, with speaker profiles, practical information and a host of interactive features.

Keeping both conference-goers and global audiences connected, the mobile site at will offer a live streaming service for viewers at home and ample social media options from Facebook to Twitter to get everyone involved in the global conversation.

Another highlight of the GNF will be a special presentation on “Preparing for the 2014 ITU Plenipotentiary Conference” by Lee Sang-hak, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union PP-14 Preparatory Secretariat, from the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning.
