Digital success plan for Thailand

According to Thailand’s National Broadcasting & Telecoms Commission (NBTC), by the fourth year of the country’s 4-year ditigisation plan, around 95 per cent of the nation will be able to receive a full portfolio of digital channels.

The NBTC is requiring upcoming digital broadcasters to boost their signals beyond their current 50 per cent plan for Year 1to 80 per cent in Year 2, and 90 per cent by the end of Year 3, Advanced Television reports.

The current scheme calls for an auction of digital frequencies, covering 24 channels, to take place by the end of this year.
