Turner International appoints VP in South East Asia & Pacific

Turner International Asia Pacific announced the appointment of Karen Johnston as Vice President of network for general entertainment for the South East Asia & Pacific region.

Johnston is based in Hong Kong and joins Turner with more than twenty years’ experience in the Asian television business.

In the role, she will define and execute current and future content and brand strategy for Turner’s general entertainment brands across the South East Asia Pacific region. Turner currently operates two general entertainment brands in these markets, TCM and truTV, and is pursuing opportunities to expand the portfolio.

Johnston was formerly Programming and Acquisitions Director at Universal Networks Asia Pacific. This followed a sixteen-year stint at Star TV where she was Vice President of Programming for Star World and oversaw program acquisitions for other channels.
