China signs broadcast agreements with 16 Arab countries

Cooperation agreements for Arab countries to broadcast Chinese TV programs and films have been signed by Chinese and Arabic broadcasters, and the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU).

Agreements were signed during the 2013 Forum on China-Arab States Radio and Television Cooperation which took place in China’s northwestern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Representatives from 16 Arab countries, including Algeria, Oman, Tunisia, Yemen, Jordan, Comoros and Egypt have attended the forum.

Representatives held discussions on broadcast policy, communication and cooperation, as well as technological development and digitalization of TV and radio.

It is the second such forum held to date. The Forum has become an important platform for China and Arab states to exchange views on broadcasting cooperation and has played an important role in promoting dialogue and program exchange between the parties.
