New cameras boost production for Myanmar broadcaster

Myanmar-based TV and radio broadcaster Forever Group has chosen Sony’s camera system to boost its studio operations.

The acquisition brings its total of HXC-D70 cameras to 17 to improve the quality of production in both standard and high definition.

Forever Group says its channels are some of the most-watched in Myanmar, which is witnessing a dramatic change in its country’s communications for its 60-million population.

Although many of its television programs are still broadcast in standard definition, TV stations and production houses in the capital Yangon and other major cities are rapidly embracing high definition to meet the demands of its viewers.

Forever Group Head of Resources Mr Pyae Phyo Han said the D70 was useful for both indoors and outdoors.

“With its easy data transfer, small bit rate and ease of use in post-production, the D70 works very well within our workflow,” he said
