Entries open for international children’s TV prize

Entries have now opened for the 50th anniversary competition of the Prix Jeunesse for excellence in children’s television.

Submissions for children’s programs made this year close on 12 December 2013, and the prizes will be awarded at the 50th Prix Jeunesse International, to be held in Munich, Germany, from 30 May to 4 June 2014.

Organisers say the international festival is a chance for broadcasters from around the world to show their best kids programs and for approximately 500 children’s TV experts to discuss and award the best in television for children and young people.

A long tradition of working in the Asia-Pacific region connects the Prix Jeunesse Foundation and the ABU, most recently with ABU members attending “Suitcase Workshops” in Afghanistan, Turkey and Hong Kong.

The deadline for registration for the Munich festival is 30 April 2013 and more information can be found at http://www.prixjeunesse.de/
