A new Hong Kong entertainment channel for Singapore

Hong Kong’s Celestial Tiger Entertainment is launching cHK, a brand-new general-entertainment channel, on SingTel’s mioTV in Singapore.

The channel is said to deliver the latest blockbusters, celebrity-led infotainment, lifestyle shows, late night programs and dramas never before aired in Singapore. cHK will be shown in Mandarin but viewers also have the option to watch in the original Cantonese audio track on cHK on Demand.

The linear channel makes its debut on October 18, while the on-demand channel launches a day later.

“We are excited to partner with SingTel mio TV to bring their customers a new choice in Hong Kong entertainment. Hong Kong is known for its exciting movies, television programs, food, fashion and bustling nightlife. With cHK, we are packaging all this excitement into one contemporary, celebrity-powered channel, in high definition,” said Todd Miller, the CEO of Celestial Tiger Entertainment.

Goh Seow Eng, the managing director for TV at SingTel said the launch was customer driven: “We launched cHK in response to customer requests, as many have indicated their interest in quality content from Hong Kong. Our self-packaged Jia Le channel, which also screens content in its original dialect, is consistently one of our most watched channels and we believe that cHK will quickly become just as popular.”
