ABU GA – Experts tackle technical challenges facing broadcasters in the Asia-Pacific
More than 200 broadcasting engineers, technologists and associated industry experts are meeting in Vietnam to tackle the major issues facing the electronic media in the Asia-Pacific and around the world.
They are taking part in meetings at the Melia Hotel in Hanoi of the ABU Technical Bureau and Technical Committee that precede the Union’s 50th General Assembly there on 28-29 October 2013.
The Technical Bureau will preview issues and concerns for the Technical Committee, with one of the main discussions focusing on the decisions and recommendations that will be placed in front of the Committee for adoption, together with a brief review of its activities in the past year and discussions on planned activities for the year ahead.
One of the highlights of the Technical Committee meeting itself is the technical awards ceremony in the morning of the first day and the launch of the newly-established Developing Broadcasters Excellence Award, sponsored by Sony.
