Sony’s new better brighter and environmentally friendly projector

Sony has revealed a new 4K digital projector the company says is capable of extremely high picture quality and is more environmentally friendly.

Equipped with their original super-precise 4K Silicon X-tal Reflective Display (SXRD), it incorporates a newly-developed 4K optical engine, boasting a best-in-class contrast ratio of 12,000:1 and a high brightness of 18,000 lm for projecting the most vivid and intense 4K images.

Sony says the SRX-T615 is ideal for displaying moving graphics smoothly, such as action films or sports, due to its 4K 50/60P signal compatibility for smooth and accurate picture reproduction.

Besides high picture quality, the SRX-T615 also offers low running costs. Sony claims that using six HPM lamps in individual cartridges means replacing the lamp is easier and safer, and the projector provides a longer lamp-exchange cycle with lamps for the SRX-T615 costing much less than Xenon lamps.

Mr Motomi Saito, Managing Director of Professional Solutions Company (PSAP) and Head of Digital Cinema Division for Sony Electronics Asia Pacific, says: “This new 4K digital projector will deliver a whole new level of entertainment experiences to captive audiences everywhere.

“It also incorporates professional features that make it very versatile and reliable in terms of setup and operation, ideal for a large number of applications including visual simulation and visual entertainment.”
