India’s NDTV now in Singapore

With its latest expansion into Singapore, India’s New Delhi Television network (NDTV) is now available in 78 countries world wide.

In the Asia-Pacific region, NDTV has carriage deals in place for Papua, New Guinea, Myanmar and the Philippines. The next target of the New Delhi based television channel is reported to be Indonesia.

NDTV’s news and infotainment channels, NDTV 24×7 and NDTV Good Times, are available in Singapore through StarHub TV.

Rohit Jaiswal, associate vice-president, network distribution and affiliate sales for NDTV said StarHub was an ideal choice for the broadcaster: “StarHub TV carries most of the Indian channels available in India and hence the Indian subscriber base is very strong for the cable company. The dependence on subscription revenues is as high as 70 per cent in the market and we wanted to have our distribution strategy right.”

Lee Soo Hui, head of media business unit, StarHub said “The addition of NDTV 24×7 news channel and the NDTV Good Times infotainment service will strengthen StarHub TV’s Indian content line-up by offering more entertainment choices for our customers.”
