ABU presents Asia-Pacific perspective at WorldDMB General Assembly

ABU Technology Director Dr Amal Punchihewa has given the WorldDMB global industry forum an update on the development of digital radio in the Asia-Pacific.

Speaking at the WorldDMB 19th General Assembly held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands,

Dr Punchihewa also updated delegates on the joint ABU-WorldDMB workshop and DAB+ technology trials taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in March 2014.

More than 150 delegates from at least 70 international organisations attended sessions over the two-day Amsterdam conference, making it the largest WorldDMB General Assembly in recent years.

Glyn Jones, General Manager of Digital Radio Platforms for Arqiva, said the ABU updates were informative and enlightening, while Bernie O’Neill, Project Director of WorldDMB, said delegates reported they found it valuable to know what was happening in the Asia Pacific region.

WorldDMB is the principal sponsor of ABU Digital Broadcast Symposium to be held March 2014 in Kuala Lumpur.
