Thai media company links to Dolby Digital Plus

Thai communications and multimedia company Samart has chosen Dolby Digital Plus as the sound technology for its second-generation digital terrestrial television (DVB-T2) set-top boxes.

Managing Director Mr Thawee Udomkitchote said Samart’s association with Dolby was a great opportunity to combine their great visual experience with Dolby Digital Plus sound.

“With digitization, the broadcast industry in Thailand is evolving at a fast pace by delivering better and more enhanced quality of services to consumers,” he said. “The collaboration reinforces our commitment to provide the best of in-home entertainment services to millions of households in Thailand.”

Dolby South East Asia Regional Director Mr Leong-Yan Yoong said their collaboration with Samart was “yet another milestone for Dolby to bring people a fantastic entertainment experience – through DVB-T2 services – right in their living rooms.”
