Children’s summit launches website

Preparations for next year’s World Summit on Media for Children – the first to be held in Asia – have taken another step forward with the launch of a dedicated website.

The summit from 8-10 September 2014 is being organised by the ABU and the WSMC Foundation and will be hosted by Radio Television Malaysia. It will bring to Kuala Lumpur more than 2,000 producers, broadcasters, media regulators, educators and community leaders committed to the improvement of quality media for children.

This will be the Seventh 7th World Summit on Media for Children and the first time in Asia. It will officially pen on 9 September but be preceded by a day of workshops.

Organisers say the summit provides unique opportunities for networking, debates, and workshops on content creation.

“It will celebrate children’s creativity and development through media, and will focus on quality content and the role and meaning of education in a globalised modern media environment.”

The website will serve as a hub for information, registrations and WSMC resources.  It will be updated as WSMC gets closer.  You can access it here.
