WorldDMB hosts digital radio showcase in Kuala Lumpur

In the run-up to the Digital Broadcasting Symposium (DBS), Asia-Pacific broadcasters have been invited to a showcase of digital radio at the end of this month, co-hosted by the ABU and its partners.

The DAB+ Technology Workshop and Transmission Demonstration will be held in Kuala Lumpur from 28 Feb to 4 Mar 2014, back-to-back with DBS, which starts from 4 March.

The event is being co-organised by the ABU, Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), WorldDMB and the Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information (IPPTAR).

It will showcase the DAB+ standard and its transmission technology, demonstrating its features and efficiency improvements compared to analogue FM broadcasting.

The event comprises a two-day technology workshop, followed by a one-day transmission trial and field measurement exercise in and around the city of Kuala Lumpur and half-day session to discuss the results of the test.

The workshop will provide participants with up-to-date information on the implementation of DAB+ technology, its enhancements and its planning and digital radio implementation aspects.
