CBS & RTL bring Extreme to Asia

The RTL and CBS joint venture channels business has announced its second thematic channel for Asia – Extreme HD – to launch on Singaporean pay TV platform SingTel mio TV on March 27. 

The male skewed network will be the exclusive local home of UKTV original Dynamo: Magician Impossible and Red Bull Media House shows Red Bull Art of Motion, Red Bull Cliptomaniacs and Red Bull Air Races. It also exclusively air Spike TV magic seriesCriss Angel BeLIEve and feature programming from magicians Troy and Cosentino.

It will also run shows such as RTL-owned format Fear Factor and early seasons of CBS procedurals including NCIS: Los Angeles and Hawaii Five-O.

RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network launched last year. The joint venture’s first channel, RTL CBS Entertainment HD, began rolling out in September. SingTel already carries the channel. RTL and CBS plan to have the two networks in 29 Asian territories.
