ABU President and UN Secretary-General meet to promote international co-operation
Mr Gil Hwan-Young, President of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union and President & CEO of the Korean national broadcaster KBS visited the United Nations Headquarters in New York and met Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on April 10.
The two discussed current issues in the broadcasting industry and the rights of audiences in less-developed countries to view international sporting events.
Also in the talks, KBS and the UN agreed to plan a commemorative concert at the UN General Assembly Hall by the KBS Symphony Orchestra in 2015. The concert will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the independence of Korea and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations.
