Twitter executive to lead discussions at BroadcastAsia and CommunicAsia

One of Twitter’s most senior executives will deliver a Visionary Address at two Asia-Pacific conferences in June.

Shailesh Rao, Twitter’s Vice President for Americas, Asia-Pacific and Emerging Markets, will speak at BroadcastAsia2014 and the CommunicAsia2014 conferences in Singapore on 18 June 2014, highlighting the power of live and authentic social engagement for businesses and brands.

He will be among more than 150 senior industry executives who will deliver key updates and share case studies on a range of the latest trends and technology advances such as over-the-top (OTT) content, the controversial Internet of Things (IoT), enterprise mobility, bring your own device (BYOD), Ultra-High Definition (UHD)/4K and multi-screen broadcasting.

“More than half of the world’s population lives in the Asia-Pacific region and social media gives them the ability to connect with each other, while enabling their voices to be heard around the world,” Mr Rao says.

“Now, more than ever, Asian consumers have the platform and desire to shape both local public discourse and the pulse of the world. Brands and businesses that embrace the power of social media for live, authentic conversations with Asian consumers will be the leaders of tomorrow.”

Speaking on ‘Social Media and the Power of Asian Consumers’, IBM’s Rob van den Dam will deliver a keynote address on 17 June. The computer giant’s Global Telecom Leader will present results from IBM’s 2014 Telecom Consumer Survey, conducted across 35 countries, and share examples of how telecom operators are adopting social media to achieve their goals.

The two conferences will be held with the CommunicAsia2014/EnterperiseIT2014 and BroadcastAsia2014 exhibitions at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore from 17–21 June 2014.
