CNA teams up with Samsung for a Smart TV app

Regional broadcaster Channel NewsAsia has launched a Smart TV app with Samsung.

The launch has been timed to coincide with the release of Samsung’s newest Smart TV sets, including the Samsung Curved UHD TV.

The app allows users to have access to an extensive selection of content from Channel NewsAsia that covers news, business, lifestyle, travel, history, current affairs and documentaries on their Samsung Smart TVs. Specially curated content includes breaking news videos, catch-up programs, news articles and photo galleries.

The app is available free from the Samsung Smart Hub and can be used on Samsung Smart TV models produced from 2012 onwards.

Mr Woon Chuk Chan, Vice President of Channel NewsAsia’s Distribution and Marketing said the new app provides access to more than just the news: “Users can also view the channel’s wide array of high-end documentaries and award-winning current affairs programmes in their own time, and is an added avenue for the busy consumers of today.”

Commenting on the collaboration, Irene Ng, Vice President, Marketing, Samsung Asia Pte Ltd  said, “News is an integral part of our lives and we’re delighted to partner Channel NewsAsia to bring breaking developments from the region and the world to Samsung Smart TV screens. This app delivers outstanding news content in an interactive way and represents yet another value added service we are offering to consumers.”
