Turner Asia names its General Entertainment Head

Ex-Universal Networks International programming director Marianne Lee is joining Turner International Asia Pacific next month as the group’s VP of general entertainment content.

World Screen reports Lee will be tasked with executing the content and channel strategy for Turner’s general entertainment brands in the region: WarnerTV, TCM Turner Classic Movies and truTV.

On Lee’s appointment, president of Turner International Asia Pacific Ricko Ow said, “With WarnerTV now a Turner brand, she arrives at a critical time to build on its existing number one ranking and to develop our entertainment-brand bouquet even further. Under her leadership, we can look forward to Turner’s entertainment channels scaling greater heights of audience appeal and excitement, as well as more new offerings.”

Most recently Lee was director of programming and acquisitions at Universal Networks International. She also spent several years at Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia, and at TVB in Hong Kong.
