IRIB’s 13th International Radio Festival wraps up in Tehran

The 2014 editions of IRIB’s International Radio Festival and International Radio Forum have come to an end in Tehran.

The events, hosted by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), comprising the 13th edition of the International Radio Festival and the 5th International Radio Forum were opened on May 10 and included a series of workshops and meetings.

Winners of various categories of the festival were announced by the jury during the closing ceremony on 12 May and the prizes were presented by IRIB CEO, Mr Ezzatollah Zarghami.

The winning categories featured radio drama, mini-feature, on-air personality, documentary and interactive programs.

Around 700 programs were submitted in total for the prizes and 340 programs from seventeen countries were selected for judging at the international section of the festival.

Iraq, India, Romania, Serbia, South Korea, China, Macedonia, France and Poland were among the participated countries.

The International Radio Festival of Iran is the biggest radio competition and content event in the Middle East and North Africa. It is run biennially and receives a large number of entries from radio stations and independent producers around the globe.
