Channel NewsAsia presents Indonesian Presidential Election specials

Channel NewsAsia programs Insight and Primetime Asia are bringing the region’s viewers exclusive specials on the election for the Indonesian President. 

More than 180 million Indonesians will go to the polls on 9 July 2014 to elect the country’s seventh President, to succeed outgoing leader Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

To cover the tussle between the former Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo,  and ex-general Prabowo Subianto, Insight went to several provinces in Indonesia to meet key political personalities from the respective parties, former military officers, analysts and kingmakers as well as ordinary citizens to understand the preferences of the Indonesian voters ahead of the polls.

Broadcast on 3 July, encore telecasts were planned until Saturday, 5 July.

A two-hour special edition of Primetime Asia will deliver in-depth analysis of the election results with expert analysis, with Channel NewsAsia’s correspondents reporting live from Indonesia and updating the results as they come in.
