Singapore Media Academy to host radio masterclasses

Mobile journalism and managing a radio station will feature in two masterclasses being run at the Singapore Media Academy this month.

International broadcast and new media trainer Steve Ahern will deliver the first of the masterclasses from 14-16 July 2014 on how to program and manage a station in the current highly competitive media environment, in a course called Making Radio Your Business.

Through practical exercises and case studies, participants will learn to appreciate the role of a radio program director, understand their audience, develop a breakfast show, manage talent, derive competitive advantage, manage ratings and revenue and acquire branding and marketing ideas.

The second course from 17-18 July 2014 on Mobile Journalism will equip reporters, street teams and managers with the skills to file multimedia reports first and fast from their mobile devices, teaching them to capture, compile, edit and file reports using their smart phones and tablets.
