Registrations rise for SPORTEL Monaco 2014

Organisers of the international sports media industry conference SPORTEL say they have seen an increase in registrations for this year’s event in Monaco.

Weekly registration statistics for the ABU-supported SPORTEL Monaco 2014 show a rise in registrations, with a strong increase of registered buyers already at 54 per cent.

“Current developments of the industry present more and wider interest in sports content overall and the SPORTEL organization has taken action to present even more buyers for this year’s convention,” a spokesperson says. “SPORTEL Monaco 2013 showcased a whopping 36 per cent [increase] in buyers.”

SPORTEL Monaco will stage its 25th anniversary convention in the Mediterranean principality from 7-10 October 2014.

One of its opening workshops will be on Sports Online: What Works, What doesn’t.

A panel of experts will look at how business models for digital content have evolved, examine whether there is now a consensus about what works and what doesn’t for digital sports content and see what are the factors shaping the future of digital sport.

Panellists will include: Stephen Nuttall, Senior Director, YouTube EMEA; Simon Greenberg, Global Head of Rights, News Corp; and Frank Leenders, Director General, FIBA Media & Marketing Services. It will be moderated by Frank Dunne of TV Sports Markets.
