BeIN Sports launches third channel in France

Al Jazeera’s beIN Sports has announced a mid-September launch of its third channel in France.

The new channel, BeIN Sports 3, will broadcast handball, tennis, volley ball, athletics, as well as Lilgue 1 and Champions League games.

The first channel will carry the best of beIN and BeIN Sports 2 will focus on European football championships.

The broadcaster will continue its BeIN Sports Max channel, which serves as the overflow channel and is only active when there are more live events to cover than the current channels can broadcast.

BeIN Sports has more than 2.5 million subscribers, adding 850,000 since the start of the FIFA World Cup.
