Concerts highlight World Summit on Media for Children

The world renowned Romanian Radio National Orchestra will present two concerts in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as part of the first World Summit on Media for Children to be hosted in Asia.

The orchestra will perform in the special venue of Dewan Philharmonik Petronas (Petronas Philharmonic Hall) on 9 and 10 September 2014.

The concerts will be among the highlights of the 7th WSMC being organised by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), Radio Televisyen Malaysia and the WSMC Foundation from 8-10 September with the theme Media for 21st Century Children.  The summit will provide unique opportunities for networking, debates and workshops on content for program creators, educators, policy makers, digital media innovators and people working in the field of childhood development.

The concert program will be led by Maestro Tiberiu Soare and will include two Malaysian classical works conducted by Maestro Leonard Yeap.

The full program includes Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake Suite op. 20a, Yeap’s Contertino Rancak Bertemu for double violin with soloists Yap Yen and Jae Sern, Boyle’s Jauh-Jauh arranged by Luqman Aziz, de Sarasate’s Gypsy Airs op. 20, Dinicu’s Ciocarlia, Strauss’s Burlesk and Enescu’s Romanian Rhapsody nr. 1 in A op. 11.
