Octoshape expands into Asia-Pacific

Octoshape, which provides cloud-based, over-the-top (OTT) stream acceleration and contribution technologies for broadcasters, enterprises and carriers, has announced a further push into Southeast Asia and Oceania with the establishment of a new office in Sydney, Australia.

The move follows big wins in the Asia Pacific region, Rapid TV News reports.

“Until now, broadcasters in the region have had very few provider choices for global and local content distribution,” said Michael Koehn Milland, CEO of Octoshape. “Not only is Octoshape now firmly planted in every corner of the globe, but leading media organisations in the wider Australia region now have access to a cloud streaming platform that offers fixed costs while achieving higher quality video playback for multiscreen content delivery.”

Octoshape’s global OTT cloud platform replaces content delivery networks with a patented ‘stream acceleration’ technology that eliminates buffering and offers Quality of Service (QoS) across multiscreen devices, the company said. Octoshape also offers fixed price distribution, either per-subscriber or per-channel.
