Azerspace-1 transmits Turkish channels

Azerbaijan-based satellite operator Azercosmos has partnered with Turkey-based company, Neba to transmit Turkish channels on its Azerspace-1 satellite starting this month.

The satellite, Azerspace-1 was launched in February 2013. It covers Europe, Africa, Middle East, Caucasus and Central Asia. It has been broadcasting more than 80 TV and radio channels including Georgian, Turkish, Ukrainian and South African TV channels, NexTVAsia reports.

The satellite was originally designed to offer digital broadcasting services, internet access and data transmission. It has also set up multiservice VSAT networks which offer governmen communication services.
