Lao and China broadcasters sign a content deal

Lao National Television (LNTV) and the Guangxi People’s Broadcasting Station of China have partnered to produce television programmes under the theme ‘Chinese theatre’.

This initiative aims to strengthen socio-economic ties between Laos and China, NexTVAsia reports.

The two broadcasters have signed the agreement on November 5 and it is valid for two years. As per the agreement, Chinese theatre productions would be broadcast on LNTV twice each week.

LNTV will switch from analogue to digital transmission using China’s DTMB system. The cost of transition is estimated at USD 130 million.
