South Indian MSOs to launch cable federation

India’s independent multi-system operators (MSOs) in Bengaluru, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala are to form a South Indian Federation to strengthen their broadband offer and operating power.

The cable TV federation, to be launched officially in Kerala in December, will, combined, cover 20 head ends and cater to about three million subscribers, Rapid TV News reports.

“The broadcasters deal differently with national MSOs and the regional independent MSOs. So, we have decided to come together as one team,” Sudhish Kumar, executive director, iSagar E Technologies is quoted as saying by Indian Television.

The federation hopes that by working towards providing value added services on just one platform, larger partners will be attracted, and greater revenue streams generated for all the participating MSOs.
