KBS hosts 2nd ASEAN documentary producers meeting
Producers from across Southeast Asia met in Korea for the second meeting of the Korea-ASEAN One Vision Documentary Co-Production project.
The producers from ABU members in eight ASEAN nations met at the KBS Human Resources and Training Center in Suwon, South Korea, from 17-12 November 2014 to share resources, expertise and experience.
Organisers said that KBS experts and staff explored the latest techniques in editing and documentary post-production focused on the ASEAN motto “One Vision, One Identity, One Community”, showcasing the characteristics of Southeast Asia and looking to a future of continued growth and prosperity.
The participating broadcasters – all ABU members – originally met in Bangkok, Thailand, earlier in 2014 to coordinate their work together. As part of the project, each of the producers has created a documentary focused on social, political or economic issues in their home country. KBS will edit the individual documentaries into a two-part series to be broadcast during the upcoming ASEAN-Republic of Korea Commemorative Summit to be held in Busan, South Korea, from 11-12 December 2014.
The Korea-ASEAN “One Vision” Documentary Co-Production is a joint project between the ten nations of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and KBS. Participating broadcasters include: RTB-Brunei, TVK-Cambodia, MetroTV-Indonesia, LNTV-Laos, RTM-Malaysia, MRTV-Myanmar, PTV-Philippines, MediaCorp-Singapore, Thai PBS and VTV-Vietnam.
