Asian content deals for Mondo TV

Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka are to localize Mondo TV’s new animated productions for the next three years.

Rome-based Mondo TV’s sequel Dinofroz (currently in co-production with Giochi Preziosi) and the series Sissi, The Young Empress (currently in co-production with Il Sole di Carta) are among the content acquired by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), following an agreement with Malaysian company R2A Network.

The licence grants broadcast rights of the series dubbed in the local language until the end of 2018, Rapid TV News reports.

The deal comes just a day after Mondo TV announced a new five-year licence with PT Spectrum Film for broadcasting the new series Atomicron (co-produced by Giochi Preziosi) and the second series of Dinofroz on free-to-air channels in Indonesia and Sri Lanka.

“We are happy of the reaction we are receiving in the emerging markets also on the programmes which are still under production; the sale results are really encouraging,” said Matteo Corradi, CEO of Mondo TV.
