NBTC considers TV shopping to enhance digital economy

Thai regulator National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), is contemplating providing television shopping service licences. This move aims to boost government’s digital economy policy and extend the television business.

According to NexTV Asia, NBTC considers that this initiative would enhance the television business in Thailand and generate more economic value using technology complying to the government’s digital economy policy.

Dr Natee Sukonrat, Vice Chairman of the NBTC, says the regulator has learned from the example of the South Korean TV shopping service that it has achieved great success and proved to be beneficial to the economy.
