2015 ICC Cricket World Cup: Over 1BN TV viewers watched India v/s Pakistan

The clash of Asia’s cricketing titans attracted more than one billion television viewers on Sunday 15 February when India won against Pakistan in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup.

It is reported that the match has been the most watched in the history of cricket. This was the sixth consecutive victory for India, title-holders over its rival. Virat Kohli scored 107 to help India to victory in the T20 match played in front of a sell-out crowd of 53,000 at the Adelaide Oval in Australia.

Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi congratulated the national team. The Star Sports network is broadcasting live all the matches of the tournament to the Indian audience and also streamed video via its starsports.com website. In Pakistan, the national broadcaster PTV provided free online live for the match and broadcast matches played only by the national team.
