Climate Change discussed in Pakistan

HUM TV in Islamabad held a three-day seminar last February to generate ideas to produce documentaries on Climate Change. Due to an ABU initiative each country of the Himalayan border region will have to produce one documentary on its own environmental situation and there will be exchange of documentaries among the participating countries. The deadline to submit the documentary is May 2015 and later this year, a prize will be awarded to the best production.

At the PTV, Pakistan State Broadcaster, a two-day comprehensive dialogue on Emergency Warning Broadcasting and Disaster Risk Reduction gathered about 35 participants coming  mainly from  the meteorological services, the Climate Change Department and the Rural Development Policy Department. The meeting  held in collaboration with ESCAP  and chaired by ABU consultant Russell Isaac focussed on the role of radio and television in case of natural disasters .
