Formula 1 Rights remain within Australia’s Network Ten

Network Ten in Australia has retained the broadcast rights for the FIA Formula One World Championship for the next five years. As the official broadcaster of the Australian round of the championship, Network Ten will broadcast live the practice sessions, qualifying sessions one, two and three and the race with minimum guaranteed coverage of 25 hours across three days in each year of the deal.

Mark Weber, the recently retired Formula 1 motor racing champion will commentate the race in 2015 and 2016.

Network Ten’s CEO, Hamish McLennan reacted to the renewal of the deal. He said that Formula 1 is one of the great global sports and his organisation is delighted for having been able to extend its long and successful relationship with Formula One Management.
