In addition to the annual Lifetime Achievement, Sitara-e-Hunar, and Mardumi awards, the Annual ATN Awards introduced a new honour in Malaysia: the Jawedana Hai Moseqi award. This new award celebrates a performer’s legacy achievement to the Afghan arts scene.
“While this ceremony honoured the most popular Afghan artists and most exciting contributions to Afghanistan’s cultural development over the past twelve months,” said Ehsan Bayat, Chairman of the Ariana Television Network, “the ATN Awards are much more than an annual celebration. These achievements are integral to the long-term process of preserving and enhancing Afghanistan’s cultural heritage. All the award candidates, both the winners and nominees, are responsible for making possible this important contribution to Afghans worldwide.”
The Annual ATN Awards will be aired in Afghanistan and on ATN’s international feeds in March 2015.
