Documentaries on Lee Kuan Yew will be available on DVD

MediaCorp is making available on DVD, programmes about the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore’s first Prime Minister. These programmes were broadcast during the period of national mourning following his death on 23 March 2015.

The documentaries are available for catch-up viewing online via Toggle on  www.toggle.sg/catchup and on channelnewsasia.com/news/specials. However, MediaCorp has received overwhelming requests to make available the programmes on DVD for purchase.The three-part documentary, Time Nor Tide, each about an hour long, was part of a series of special programmes to commemorate Mr Lee’s life and legacy.A subsequent set of these programmes in Malay and Tamil will be made available two weeks later. These versions will also go on sale.

In honour of the memory of Mr Lee’s lifetime contributions to the nation, MediaCorp is donating the net proceeds of the first public sale of DVDs to the Community Chest.

MediaCorp is planning to produce other programmes on Mr Lee Kuan Yew on DVD because of the requests. These include In His Own Words, which is a six-part series of his key speeches over the years; and Forging A Nation, a compilation of short stories capturing significant moments and issues in Singapore’s history. These DVDs would be released by the end of April 2015. Further information about these titles will be given on www.channelnewsasia.com soon.
