A Science TV Channel for Children in Malaysia

The Ministry of Science and Technology in Malaysia has shortlisted four broadcasting channels for a new television channel that will air science-related content designed for children. The chosen company will be responsible for setting up a channel that will promote scientific thinking amongst the young. The channel has been tentatively named Science Channel or Mosti TV.

According to the Malaysian Deputy Science Minister around 80% of the funds received by the ministry for research and commercialisation will be allocated to the promotion of science. “Through the channel, the ministry wants to promote its efforts in the field of innovation and science, and cultivate interest in the young generation.

The channel would be similar to other innovation and science channels such as National Geographic and will operate for 12 hours daily.
