JAPAN PRIZE 2015 is now accepting entries through June 30

Established in 1965, the JAPAN PRIZE International Contest for Educational Media will mark its 50th anniversary this year. The JAPAN PRIZE has been acknowledging the world’s most outstanding educational works. It has become a unique meeting place for discussing the ideals of educational media.

Entries can be submitted to any and all divisions and categories below.

Audiovisual Division has 4 categories according to the target age group (Pre-School, Primary, Youth and Lifelong Learning). These categories are exclusively for TV/Film/Video. The 5th category is the Creative Frontier Category that honours the very best in digital contents such as educational games, applications, websites and cross media contents.

TV Proposal Division offers a grant to two TV proposals submitted by producers from countries with limited resources. USD10,000 is awarded to the best and USD3,000 to the second best. If an entry is selected to be among the five finalists, JAPAN PRIZE will sponsor its producer to come to Tokyo to present the proposal in front of the international jury. This will be preceded by a training session, led by experienced producers from NHK. The winners will be responsible to complete the production and air the program in their own countries in the following year.

The entry for both Divisions is accepted on line from the official website http://www.nhk.or.jp/jp-prize/english/index.html.
