Singaporeans have chosen MediaCorp’s “gift of song” to the nation
“These Are The Days” by songwriter Lee Chin Sin is the winning song entry for SG50: The Gift of Song, a song-writing competition organised by MediaCorp to celebrate the nation’s 50th birthday.
One of three finalist’s songs, “These Are The Days” emerged the winning song from over 65,000 votes cast during the seven weeks of voting that began on 8 January. The other two finalist songs are “Being Here” and “We Are Stars”.
The winning song will be made into a music video showcasing Singaporeans from all walks of life. The music video will also feature winners from MediaCorp’s talent shows. The music video will be broadcast across MediaCorp’s television channels, Out-Of-Home (OOH) screens and over-the-top service Toggle while the songs will be played across MediaCorp’s radio stations, in the lead-up to National Day 2015.
Other initiatives by MediaCorp to celebrate SG50 include “Design-A-Tee” SG50 tee-shirt competition, Celebrate SG50 countdown show and SG Care and Share Day.
