MediaCorp: The Public’s Favourites in The Laurels Awards 2015

The winners of The Laurels 2015 were unveiled at the Awards Ceremony  held during the weekend in Canvas Singapore attended by advertisers, media and creative agency partners. Organized by MediaCorp into its ninth consecutive year now, The Laurels recognizes Singapore’s favourite ads, with the aim of celebrating the great works and contributions within the local creative and media industry.

IKEA ‘bookbook’ campaign creatively conceived by BBH Singapore and supported by media agency – OMD Singapore, emerged to be the biggest winner , scooping the Favourite Radio Commercial, Best Transmedia Campaign and Best of Show awards.

The Favourite Awards saw an increase of 65% over last year, in number of votes cast by the public during the four-week voting period for the Favourite Television Commercial, Favourite Radio Ad, Favourite Print Ad and Favourite Outdoor Campaign in the Public Voting category. The Best Homegrown Campaign, Best Transmedia Campaign and Best of Show awards under the Professional category were determined by a panel of creative leaders from the industry. 

The Best Homegrown Award went to UOB Private Bank ‘Carousel & Vase’ television commercials which charmed the jury by its compelling storytelling depicting the trust value proposition with scenes dated back in olden days of Singapore in 1960s.

Both the creative and media agencies of the Best Homegrown Award and Best of Show received $5,000 cash each in recognition to their great works.
