Mediacorp adopts latest technology for better interaction with its audiences

Singapore media owner MediaCorp will adopt the latest version of the never.no STORY application to enhance its flagship live current affairs TV show.

Talking Point is a weekly topical news programme broadcast every Tuesday night on Channel 5, which specialises in debating issues affecting Singaporeans, with guests in the studio drawn from interest groups, politics, academia and members of the general public. A key element of the show is audience interaction via call-ins, texts and emails.

By utilising the multichannel and instant social monitoring capacity of STORY 1.6, never.no says that social content application views and opinions can be easily incorporated into the show’s studio debates from across the entire social media landscape. Snap polls, graphs, comment captions and other types of viewer sentiment mapping and audience opinion are able to be worked into Talking Point’s narrative in real-time.

“Using a new social TV platform enables us even greater control of gathering, managing and publishing social content on air,” commented Talking Point’s executive producer Yvonne Lim. Allowing viewers to have their voices heard greatly enhances the show by providing insights into what topics are important and popular amongst Singaporeans.” She added.
